New Ways Organization Activities in Nutrition

Provision of emergency live saving moderate and Severe acute malnutrition and preventative through OTP/SC, TSFP, BSFP and MCHN in lower Shebelle and Galgaduud regions.

  • Rehabilitate moderately malnourished children 6-59 months at TSFP sites.
  • Treatment of pregnant and lactating mothers at the TSFP, BSFP and MCHN programs.
  • Provision of integrated lifesaving nutrition services to vulnerable communities in lower shabbelle and Galgaduud regions.
  • Provision of community mobilization, IYCF programming and Community health promotion.
  • Prevention of deterioration of moderately malnourished individuals to severe acute malnutrition.
  • Promotion of utilization of ante-natal and post-natal services.
  • Promotion of healthier pregnancies and safer deliveries to women through skilled deliveries.
  • Screening of children under 5 for SAM and MAM.
  • Treatment of children U5 for SAM and MAM.
  • Manage children having SAM with medical complications at the stabilization Centers.
  • Integrate SAM program with basic nutrition service package (BNSP) services linked to WASH and health programs .

  • Provision of children having SAM with Multiple Micro Nutrient Supplementation.
  • Provision of individual counseling and/or breastfeeding support to care takers and mothers.
  • Provision of deworming tablets at the nutrition sites.
  • Train Nutrition staff on EPI/NHHP/IMAM and IYCF.
