Job Purpose

The Humanitarian Response Officer will coordinate emergency response activities, including needs assessments, relief distribution, and community mobilization, to ensure timely support for populations affected by crises.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rapid assessments during emergencies.
• Coordinate relief distribution of food, water, and non-food items.
• Support logistics and resource mobilization.
• Liaise with government authorities, UN agencies, and local NGOs.
• Ensure compliance with humanitarian standards and accountability mechanisms.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Affairs, Development Studies, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in emergency response.
• Knowledge of Sphere standards and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
• Fluency in Somali and English; additional languages a plus.
