Job Purpose

The Child Protection Officer will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of child protection interventions in humanitarian and development settings. The role aims to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and rights of children, particularly those affected by conflict, displacement, or abuse.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct child protection assessments and identify vulnerable children.
• Develop and implement case management plans for at-risk children.
• Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to ensure child safety.
• Organize awareness campaigns on children’s rights and protection.
• Monitor and report on program impact, challenges, and risks.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in child protection programs.
• Knowledge of child safeguarding policies and humanitarian standards (e.g., CPMS).
• Strong communication and community engagement skills.
• Fluency in Somali and English.
